Today is the first day of my brand new life.
One of my co-conspirators has relocated this past week to California, a place which I will miss intensely the rest of my life or until it falls into the ocean. Which will happen, you know–California knows how to party.

I don’t know which is better–the song or the picture the YouTube poster put up for the song.
We here at SNDP:Phenix had a rough re-entry from vacation–an immediate move to a new apartment, crap weather, and a trip to New York with a lot of networking and a horrible hotel experience. Definitely not how summer should be spent. Saturday night in Austin is time to kick back and have a cold drink and a handful of cashews. When I think of music to go along with sundowners, I think of Esquivel–and it’s all @kiapet’s fault since she introduced me to them way back when. (Thanks, lady!)
Have a great Saturday night everyone!
So, summer. Lounge is in full effect post-Greece, Jeff Lynne sunglasses and all. However, there’s another aspect to summer that we cannot overlook: the summer rock tour. Get ready to rock! For me, as an 80s-era teenager in the Boston area, that means one band and one band only.
While the winter featured a serious disco & funk bent, we are now moving into summer. and summer’s just too hot for the action-getting dance moves. it’s time to ease it back, open a cold drink, and lounge. no, i mean, lounge. what is that? is that lounging? seriously?
to really lounge, we need “take it easy, bro” music, and no one does take it easy better than the late 70s/early 80s.
(sorry–no embedding on this one)
