Back in March, I went to Smithville, Texas, and I forgot to tell anyone. I went because it was a daytrip and gas wasn’t $4/gallon. Because it was supposed to be lovely and the weather was good. Because I like seeing film sets before they are filmed. Smithville is the site of Terrence Malick’s “Tree of Life”, which was filming this past spring and over the summer around Texas and northern Mexico. I went on a Sunday, if I remember right, so that there would be no film crew to shoo me away. It was quiet, with few people and only a few tourists until lunch.
Here are the photos from the trip: Smithville, Texas, USA.
